When Russell and Iain first contacted Ashmore Music to provide tailored wedding music for their wedding in November, we knew straight away that their ceremony was going to be very special and uniquely tailored to them.
When telling us a little about themselves and their interests, both Russell and Iain confessed that they were ‘a bit nerdy’, loving science fiction and films. In fact, they told us that they had chosen table themes for the wedding breakfast based on a selection of their favourite films.
What’s more, they were making their day even more memorable by giving their beloved Jack Russell Terrier, ‘Scooby’, a starring role on their wedding day, as he was going to be the ring bearer for the ceremony!

This four-piece wedding band have been playing together since they were young and have accumulated a wealth of experience performing for prestigious clients such as the BBC, Sky and Free Radio.
Indiana’s extensive repertoire includes artists such as Stereophonics, The Beatles, Sam Fender, ABBA, The Killers, and Oasis, among many others. As well as performing at lots of celebrations and weddings over the years, the guys in Indiana have also rocked out some major stadiums, including The NEC and Wembley!
Russell and Iain chose the songs for the ceremony to be played live by Ben, the bassist and backing vocalist of Indiana. Ben is an award-winning musician who is recommended for some of the most prestigious venues in the UK. He has also been a music director and host at the renowned UK music venue The Jam House in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter for the last 17 years.
With so much experience and many professional musical performances under his belt, the guys knew they could trust Ben to set the perfect mood in an acoustic set of tailored wedding music for them and their guests. Ben played their hand-picked song list, which reflected their love of films and all things sci-fi!
For the entrance of the wedding party and the grooms. Russell and Iain chose:
‘Concerning Hobbits’ by Beyond Guitar from The Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring
Further into the service during the exchange of rings, they asked Ben to play ‘Scooby Doo, Where are You?’, as their Jack Russell, Scooby, walked down the aisle with the wedding rings.
As Russell and Iain left to sign the register, they chose two more songs that have significance for them for Ben to entertain their guests:
- Pure Imagination by Boyce Avenue
- Love at First Sight by Kylie Minogue
When they returned to the congregation after signing the register, they asked Ben to play ‘Happiness’ by McFly as they exited Mortain Barn following the ceremony.
The platinum package from Ashmore Music also provides tailored wedding music during the drinks reception, before the wedding breakfast begins. Russell and Iain requested that Indiana throw in a ‘nerdy twist’ with film music or riffs from Star Wars or Jurassic Park!
For their first dance at the evening reception, Russell and Iain requested that Indiana perform ‘Love is Easy’ by McFly, and that they should ask guests to join them on the dance floor straight away!
In addition to picking many songs that were special to them to be played during the two live sets at the evening reception, such as:

- ‘Love’ and ‘Style’ by Taylor Swift
They also requested that tracks by Coldplay and Oasis should not feature as part of their wedding day soundtrack.
